Lunar New Year, also known as Tết Nguyên Đán, is the biggest and most important holiday of the year in Vietnam. It is a time for families to come together and celebrate the new year with a festive spirit.
Tết is celebrated for three days, from the last day of the last lunar month to the third day of the first lunar month. During this time, people clean their homes, buy new clothes, and prepare special foods. They also visit temples, give red envelopes to children, and perform traditional rituals.

The Hung Kings are a legendary group of rulers who are credited with founding Vietnam. According to legend, the Hung Kings were descended from the Dragon God and the Fairy Mother. They ruled Vietnam for generations, and during their reign, they created a strong and prosperous country.

December 23: Kitchen Gods Festival
Every year on this day, the Kitchen Gods ride carps to fly to heaven to report to the Jade Emperor on all the good and bad deeds of the household. They return to earth on New Year's Eve to continue their duties of guarding the hearth.

March: Festival for Tending Graves
On this day, children and grandchildren visit the graves of their ancestors. If they see tall grass, they cut it down. If the soil is loose, they fill it in. Then, they go home to make offerings to their ancestors.
